Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Be sure to bring your insurance information, as well as your prescription from your physician in order to initiate physical therapy.
What should I wear for my first appointment?
It is important to wear comfortable, loose fitting attire for your first appointment, as well as for each consecutive treatment session. Depending on the area being treated, remember to consider that the therapist will need to examine the area and the clothing that you choose should be capable of exposing the area to be treated. It may be necessary to wear a gown during portions of the evaluation and treatment.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Initially, you will be required to fill out a Registration Form and Medical Questionnaire upon arrival at your first appointment. Once you are registered, the physical therapist will talk with you and take you to the treatment area. The physical therapist will then begin a comprehensive evaluation during which he/she will test the range of motion and strength, and perform special tests on the affected area. Based upon the findings of your initial evaluation, the therapist will develop and initiate a treatment plan. He/she will also answer any questions that you may have.
Will my insurance cover physical therapy?
While Rebound Physical Therapy accepts most major insurance plans, it is always wise to contact your insurance provider to confirm that your physical therapy services will be covered. Also, check if our physical therapy needs to be pre-approved or authorized. Rebound Physical Therapy will confirm your physical therapy benefits with your insurance provider, however, this is not a guarantee of coverage.
What insurance companies do you accept?
Rebound Physical Therapy is Bureau of Worker’s Compensation Certified (accepting BWC Claims) and accepts most major insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid.
We do suggest that you call one of our clinics to confirm that Rebound is in your network, ensuring you receive the highest level of benefits. You can reach our North Olmsted clinic at (440) 471-7570 or our Lakewood clinic at (216) 712-7816.
How long is each session going to take?
Depending on your affected area, your initial evaluation and treatment session will last approximately 60 to 90 minutes. Each consecutive treatment session will last approximately one hour.
I'm in a lot of pain. Should I come to Physical Therapy?
Absolutely! Physical Therapy will not only address the nature of your problem but also help decrease your immediate pain. We have various modalities and techniques to help you feel better quickly. Of course, check with your doctor first.
Is it too early for me to start Physical Therapy?
Every condition is different, however, for most, the sooner you start treatment, the sooner you will recover. Most post-surgical and injury treatments focus on returning you back to your active lifestyle as quickly as possible.
I received therapy before from another clinic and did not find the relief I was looking for. Can you help me?
Every therapist has a different philosophy and utilizes different treatment techniques. At Rebound Physical Therapy, we use evidence-based practices to achieve optimal outcomes. We will do our best to solve your problem. However, we also understand that physical therapy has its limitations. We assure you that if necessary, we can direct/refer you to the appropriate medical care provider who can assist you if we are unable to help.
