Rebound Physical Therapy's mission is to provide a unique outpatient rehabilitation experience, exemplified by commitment to excellence in customer service, continuity of care from evaluation through return to functional status, integrity in all of our actions, personalized evidence-based care treatment and honesty and respect for our patients and each other.

Our Story

Rebound’s founder, Jennifer Ilgauskas, has always prided herself in providing quality, professional services to her clients.  For more than five years she managed Precision Orthopaedic Specialties in Chardon, Ohio, and truly enjoyed the various challenges associated with the daily operations of a medical office.  It was during that time that Jennifer met her future husband, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, a professional basketball player with the Cleveland Cavaliers.  They soon married and relocated to the West Side of Cleveland.  Despite her passion for sports medicine, she tired of the daily 60-mile commute and decided to step away and spend time at home with her husband.

While at home for over a year, Jennifer was inspired by the skilled physical therapists that helped rehabilitate Zydrunas and got him back in the game after sustaining an injury on the court.  She began exploring the possibilities of starting a privately-owned, out-patient, physical therapy clinic.  After months of research and late night conversations with her husband, she arranged a meeting with Jon Strychasz, a physical therapist she had worked with at Precision, to discuss her ideas and to see if he would be interested in being a part of this venture. Ironically, during this same time period, Jon and fellow physical therapist Chet Blackburn had also been discussing opening a physical therapy clinic of their own.

Within months of the meeting between Jennifer and Jon, Rebound Physical Therapy was born. Our first clinic, located in Brooklyn, Ohio, opened its doors in October of 2006.  Since then, we have opened additional clinics in North Olmsted, Mansfield and Lakewood to bring the same sort of quality care to patients throughout Northeast and North Central Ohio.

What should I wear to my appointment?

I have been playing sports, namely basketball, since I was five.  I have always had my share of bumps and bruises but  never that “big” injury, until in 2008 when I came down wrong in a basketball game and tore my ACL and MCL.  It truly was one of the scariest experiences of my life. I didn’t know if I would be able to walk right again much less play the game that I love.

I can tell you that today, not only can I walk right, but I am back on the court and doing everything I could before my injury. The reason? Jon, Dave and Chet at Rebound Physical Therapy.  From the day I came in, just 3 days after I had torn everything, to the therapy that I started just 72 hours after surgery to the final session and my workouts today, I owe it all to Rebound.  I wouldn’t be where I am today without the guys at Rebound. From Jon, Dave and Chet to the owners, they take special care with every individual who walks through the doors. My relationship with them has extended beyond the Therapy sessions and I consider every one of them to be good friends of mine.

I would (and have) recommended Rebound to anyone trying to come back from an injury, no matter what age or what injury. They are the best and I wish only the best for them as their company continues to grow.
